The H2 Green project
The H2VERT project has been awarded €2.5 million in ERDF REACT EU funding.

The project, which reflects the ambitions of the Rhyo cluster, focuses on the cluster’s themes and more specifically on :
- H2 production, including electrolysis, photocatalysis and biomass conversion
- H2 storage, with the development of new materials and optimisation of storage in organic liquids (LOHC)
- Direct use of H2 for energy production, in particular in the context of ‘gas to power’ and H2 combustion, whether on the scale of individual boilers or industrial installations.
- Controlling the safety of hydrogen technologies, with the development of more efficient and more sensitive sensors.
- Societal and economic issues linked to the deployment of hydrogen technologies, with a study of the development of hydrogen logistics chains, including the characterisation of the various energy services that hydrogen can provide to the transport and distribution network.
This work is being developed by a consortium of 12 university laboratories in the Occitanie region, from 7 universities and research bodies.
The H2VERT project began on 01 July 2021 and will end on 31 December 2022.
